Brighton, Shopping and over coming fears| SIMPLYKATSINELLA

Last weekend I faced my fears. Brighton. The city itself isn't one of my fears its the crowds and panic that I experience.

Brighton is busy, full of workers, shoppers, students. That's our kryptonite for us who suffer from anxiety. I braved the hussle and bussle and stayed at my own pace. We wandered around the shops, picking a few things from KIKO, TIGER and more.

The vibe around Brighton is a busy city in a seaside town, bringing all kinds of people from around the world.
Usually I would avoid places like this like the plague.
But I was fine, I wasn't rushed and I feel accomplished overcoming a fear and actually had a lovely day out and discovered the beauty of Brighton.
What I've learnt is to say yes to things more and what's the worse that could happen?

SIDE NOTE: They have a freaking homesense in the town centre!!! *bootie wiggle*

I have a KIKO review coming soon, so keep an eye out for that.

New job must haves | SIMPLYKATSINELLA

New jobs can be daunting for anyone , but going in with the right mind and good attitude will allow you to feel happy and comfortable in no time.

Since starting my job I've realised the FOUR must haves every one should have.

Pencil Case:
For all of us stationary obsessed , a pencil case with your fancy coloured pens and highlighters will finally come in use!!

Jotting down notes in coloured pens and little annotations is how I learn best- so if you like to scribble and draw, go for it.. Your new employer will be impressed with your can-do attitude and your willingness to learn.

Notepad:
Obviously for drawing your masterpieces and scribbling your important notes.

Diary:
I can't live without my diary now, its the best way to keep track of things. Keeping an eye on dates, and meetings.

Water bottle:
Hydrate, Hydrate , Hydrate. Theres nothing worse, especially in this heat being thirsty. Keeping a bottle of water with you not only saves you money, but also allows you too keep any eye of your daily intake of water.

Chill out. Don't get stressed. Smile.

Have you heard those phrases and rolled your eyes...

I have. When you suffer from depression any one of those phrases make you want to pull your eyeballs out and scream.

My depression came when I had my first miscarriage. I say first because if you read my previous post of miscarriage you know they happen. You can't guarentee when but it will happen.

I cried and accepted and moved on.

But the thing is I thought I moved on, my body, my life and everything moved on without me.

I started getting irritable. I started to get sad. I never used that word until then but I would keep saying I just feel sad. Not upset, I feel the word upset made it seem it was temporary. Sad meant I felt it all the time.

It wasn't until a cry for help happened in my life. I'm not ready to explain what happened but I needed help. I was shocked to find that help was so easy to find if I knew where I was looking.

Help came in the shape of doctors, friends, family and fresh air.

Fresh air became so important because when you feel depressed you don't sleep and when you sleep you don't want to wake up.

Fresh air meant I felt free and the only time I didn't feel numb.

I'm still recovering, so I'm not going to tell you how to get better or say it goes.

But I'm here to just say it will be OK and enjoy the little things.

APRIL FAVOURITES | SIMPLYKATSINELLA

These are a few of my favourite things (imagine me singing this as if I was Maria from sound of music)

So this month I have been loving these few products. And when I say loving, I mean using all of them at any chance I get!!

MAC Studio Fix Foundation:

Currently I've been tanning at the moment, so my current new love is the Mac Studio fix in NW18. My tan has a yellowy undertone so NW blends so well! I love the finish and the coverage the only thing I'm not too keen on is the smell! But other than that , love it!

GIRLZONLY dry shampoo:

I pick this up in tescos in my monthly food shop ( I grab the big can) and I love it. Whether I'm just using its for a oompf or to hide some greasy hair its so good. What I like to do is spray it in, do my makeup and brush it out again. That allows any grease to be soaked up and your hair to absorb the spray.

PS... contour kit:
So this is product is the ones I brought just to try out on holiday (and I didnt have my usual contour kit) but my god I love it. The colours are so easy to use and blendable. The lighter shade has a grey undertone which I use to chisel out my chubby cheeks. The yellow colour does look a bit suspect and I haven't been brave enough to try it yet!

MAC Please me (Matte Finish):

This pink colour is perfect for the spring/summer months and looks beautiful with a tan. This lipstick has blue undertones which makes your teeth look whiter. Its not a OUT THERE pink but more of a summery pink colour. It lasts all day and isn't drying in the slightest!

Soap and Glory:

Soap and Glory have really brought these out the bag, and have topped any eyebrow or mascara I have ever used. The eyebrow archery pencil /tint is AMAZING. The precision of the pen and the pencil makes your brows stay in place all day. I chose the blonde colour and it compliments my skin tone! The mascara, is exactly what it says on the tin. Thick and fast. Its seriously like you have lash extensions and perfect for a quick glam look.

Vivis Collection Eyelashes:

These are so similar to the infamous demi wispies but half the price. You can find them on ebay and they are beautiful. They have a thin band so personally I find them easier to apply and more flexible!

DOES THIS REALLY WORK| SIMPLYKATSINELLA

DOES THIS REALLY WORK??

Has anyone heard of the makeup hack which is VASELINE. Well I've done a bit of research ( googling till I could google no more) and it has been said that Vaseline can make your eyebrows and eyelashes thicker and longer.

So here's the start of my journey, last night I applied Vaseline on my brows and eyelashes to receive a very puzzled look from my dear fiancé. To be honest I think he just allows me to do whatever to avoid questioning my weirdness.

Now the initial application feels very greasy and sticky and I'm not gonna lie, if I break out in spots around these said areas I will be blaming the Vaseline!!

So the picture below shows the first application, after reading up , I will apply Vaseline to my brows twice a day, and Vaseline to my eyelashes at night...

BTW- I know, I know, the faces I've pulled are beyond attractive... (please note the sarcasm)

I plan to check back once every week to enlighten you on my Vaseline hacks... I'll try it out and if it works then! Voila 💗

If you have any other hacks or tricks you want me to try so you don't have to, let me know on twitter or instagram!!

I've also recently started a facebook for my blogs, so please follow me on there <3
